Bernard launched his career in 1981 in the high-tempo world of commodities trading, starting as an analyst and working his way to becoming a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange as a broker and trader.
After 20 years in the commodity business, Bernard turned his attention to stocks, became a portfolio manager, returned to his hometown of El Paso.
Bernard is an active investment manager, maintaining six distinct, diversified and goal-oriented investment strategies in which his clients can invest. These strategies, of his own design, rely on market fundamentals and the practice’s innovative research and statistical analysis to strive to provide quality returns when the market is advancing and comprehensive wealth preservation when it’s in retreat.
Prior to teaming up with Raymond James, Bernard’s practice was associated with Morgan Stanley. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University, and has attained his Series 3, 7, 63 and 65 licenses.
Bernard is bilingual, speaking English and Spanish. He and his wife, Letty, have six children. Outside the office, he is involved in the community as a board member of El Paso Pro Musica.
